MRC Centre for Reproductive Health takes part in EISF Medical Frontiers at NMS

A group of researchers from CRH ran an interactive stand on 19 and 20 April at National Museum of Scotland, as part of 2019’s Edinburgh International Science Festival.

They were joined by other biomedical research scientists from across the College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine who welcomed the public to a number of drop-in stands which highlighted how science and new technologies are advancing the frontiers of future medicine and research.

The eclectic mix of stands offered themes such as Healthy Heart Valves; Health Care in the digital age: Close-up on Brains; Fluorescent Flies; The Giant Cell; and CRH’s activity, Reproductive Development and when cancer strikes.

Our enthusiastic CRH researchers did a fantastic job of welcoming members of the public to our stand, and visitors of all ages were fascinated by the activities on offer which included observing mice embryos at difference stages of development; microscope activity with cells; an interactive activity to showcase how fluorescence works; and a fun art game to match organs to specific cells whilst identifying normal and diseased tissue.

Well done to Sona Relovska, Demi Brownlie, Roseanne Rosario, Nikki Graham, Gabriele Matilionyte, Melissa Tharmalingam, and Etienne Dubiez.
