As part of the Centre for Reproductive Health's commitment to research, a series of seminars are on offer to the local scientific and clinical community. The CRH offers presentations by CRH staff, students and external academics.Available to the Edinburgh BioQuarter community on the dates shown, between 2-3pm in the Seminar Room (1.05) of the Institute for Regeneration and Repair (unless otherwise stated). Friday 16th MayProteomics in Practice: Using Olink and PEA Technology to Advance Translational Research• Katja Jansen/Cali Anderson (O-Link) (15 mins): Intro to PEA – overview of the technology, its scientific basis, and potential applications• Neil Ryan /Kacper Drukarczyk (20 mins): How we’re applying PEA in our current project – key aims, progress so far, and anticipated impact• Lee Murphy (15 mins): Facilities & infrastructure available at the University of Edinburgh – logistics, access, and support for PEA projects Seminar Summary: This seminar will introduce the principles and applications of proximity extension assay (PEA) technology, with a focus on its use in high-throughput proteomic profiling via the O-link platform. We will showcase an ongoing project within the Centre for Reproductive Health (CRH) that is actively using this technology, highlighting the biological insights and research opportunities it enables. The session will also cover the broader implications of PEA-based proteomics in translational research and provide practical guidance on how researchers can access and implement this technology locally in Edinburgh.Friday 23rd MayRod Mitchell & Evelyn TelferGonadal Health & Fertility ThemeFriday 30th MayVarsha Jain & Neil RyanTranslational Gynaecology ThemeFriday 6th JuneSpeakers: Postdoc Flash talksIRR NORTH SEMINAR ROOM**Thursday** 19th JuneSpeaker: Professor Chii Jou (Joe) ChanMechanobiology Institute, National University of SingaporeTitle: Mechanical control of mammalian folliculogenesis and its implications in ageingShort bio here Friday 27th JuneSpeaker: Professor Anne Goriely (External)Professor of Human Genetics, WIMM, University of OxfordTitle: The fine balance between genome integrity, selfishness and fertilityShort bio here Please contact CRH.Seminars@ed.ac.uk or further info or to discuss additions to this seasons programme.
