PRE-EMPT clinical trial

PRE-EMPT is a randomised multicentre trial to compare medical treatments to prevent recurrence of disease following surgical removal of endometriosis.

Why?

To compare three treatment options (DMPA, LNG-IUS and COCP) with each other to determine which is the most effective at reducing the risk of recurrence of symptoms.

Who?

Women who are undergoing laparoscopy to determine whether pelvic pain is due to endometriosis.

Where?

Multi centre across the UK
