Red-y to Talk project

Discussing Periods to Reduce Health Inequalities – a collaboration between the Flow Right PPI group and researchers at the Centre for Reproductive Health, the University of Edinburgh.

Project aim

To empower women and people who menstruate to share their experiences, reduce menstrual stigma and create a powerful resource to instigate change.

The process

Those with experience of problematic menstrual bleeding participated in a workshop series, facilitated by professional storyteller Lily Asch, to create digital stories of their lived experience of problematic menstrual bleeding.

A screening event was held to showcase the digital stories and stimulate conversations between researchers and Flow Right, aiming to smash the stigma of period problems.

Outputs

The Red-y to Talk summary video provides an overview of the project. Subtitles are available in Polish and Urdu.

Video production by FoSho studios.
