Discover our mission, research and clinical expertise in preserving fertility

Our mission

At EFP, we are dedicated to developing fertility preservation options for young patients—especially those undergoing treatments that may compromise their long-term reproductive health.

Why it matters

Cancer survival rates have improved dramatically, but this progress brings new challenges. For children and young adults, one of the most significant concerns is the impact of treatments on future fertility.

What makes us unique

We are proud to be the first centre in the UK to be ethics approved for a clinical research programme to cryopreserve both ovarian and testicular tissue and to re-transplant tissue to restore fertility, offering hope where traditional options are not available.

Our research

Our work focuses on understanding germ cells within these tissues and their potential to develop into sperm and eggs, paving the way for future breakthroughs in reproductive medicine.

Our commitment

Combining clinical expertise with scientific innovation, our team delivers worldclass care and research. Together, we aim to protect fertility and improve quality of life for young patients facing cancer treatment.
